As we toured Santa Barbara yesterday it bacame clear that everyone is not happier, richer and having more fun than I am. This is just an illusion. Even though as we became tourists there for a day I could not get the fact that I owe my attorney All This Money and he, the ex happily lives there, on his boat in the Harbor and does whatever he likes, no bills, no responsibility for our child...
(He's never even tried to pay any child support. If he did it would go into a college fund for her.)
After this drive I had a revelation, everyone (even those who can afford to live in Santa Barbara) is not all that perfect, in love and happy. No matter what we might think at times, especially times when we're at our all time lows and of the most loneliness the grass is not always greener on the other side, the folks are not more lucky or more in love because they are rich and famous, and there are always others as lowdown lonely as we can be...everywhere.
The reason I think a lot of people fail at, or should I say lose interest in online dating is they put forth a somewhat swayed self description (known as your Profile) in the dating service and expect that once they meet the hopeful it won't matter that they, well...lied.
But is Does Matter what image you present and it matters Large, because perhaps the interested individual set their criteria with no white lies and actully wants and intends to find a lady say, 5'6" tall and 125 pounds. Similarly, if a woman is looking and expects to meet a guy who is a body builder-type and in person he looks like the Pillsbury doughboy do you think she's going to acceptingly give his personality a chance after say takeing 2 days off from work buying aplane ticket or driving 4 hours to meet him?
Think again!
