Weekends Are Made For...4 Wheel Fun
Do you remember a long time ago when the teacher used to say "write a story about what you did last weekend"? Well, as we grow older a lot of the weekends seem to fly past when all we did was stuff not even worth mentioning.
This can be changed you know! I have more ideas about that but think it works to just show you what I have been up to. Mom, you should have stayed a few more days and we could have brought you to Glennville CA with us!
Joined a group called Bakersfield Trailblazers, a Family 4 Wheeling Club recently. Oh why not! It is mostly Jeeps and we own 3- a Comanche Pick Up, a Cherokee and the Wrangler. It's a good excuse to get out on the road, do things, and be with other folks who are looking for fun and adventure.
There are loads of places around Bakersfield for offroad driving and it's always nice to be accompanied by other enthusiasts.
Caravan is the word!
The weekend meet was held in Glennville CA on fellow members acreage.
The drive became desert quickly out of town, as we crept up into the hills heading North NorthWest. Oil rigs were many and there was lots of yes, you guessed it- sand!
Then slowly as we came closer to Glennville more trees and foliage appeared.
I made a short slideshow of the drive. Just click HERE and then click the green arrow to view it.
In the town of Glennville ittself there was a big to-do going on, The Glennville Parade and Rodeo. Woohoo! Clearly this is a time of great celebration for this town and it was fun to stop in there on our way to the 4Wheel Meet.
Take a look at the parade by clicking HERE.
It was quite fun baking on the side of the road as the local folk exchanged gossip, bluegrass music played and the locals paraded down main street.
Next, about 3 miles up the road we arrived at the Trailblazers gathering. What a sight to behold! There were Jeeps everywhere! As you will see...there were a few other 4Wheelers there too. Check out the sights when you click HERE to view the Jeep mayhem slideshow.
Just a note, there's no excuse to not get out and join a group of your interest, hobby or interest. You might be surprised at the new people you may meet, get new ideas and tips even. So, I encourage you to try opening your mind a little bit more, go have fun, wear a silly hat or just go do something fun and different for the hellovit.
